ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Cat Thomas, MAT, is an Artist & Expressive Arts Facilitator based in Chattanooga, TN. Fifteen years ago, Cat began using art and writing intuitively as therapeutic tools in her personal life.
After experiencing the true potential the arts have to heal the mind, body, and spirit, she pursued training at the Expressive Arts Florida Institute.
After taking her first class, she knew her
purpose was not only to create her own art
but also to enhance individual and community health and wellness by using the arts as a tool for healing, personal growth, and self-discovery.
Since completing her training in 2015, Cat has helped thousands connect with their creative selves, focusing mainly on teaching others how to use art as a self-care tool, while specializing in guiding beginners without any previous art experience.
From working as an Artist in Residence at a cancer center for nearly
a decade to partnering with a local community to create a collaborative
neighborhood street mural, Cat enjoys working with diverse populations and
believes that when given the opportunity to create in a safe, supportive, and
nonjudgmental space, people can transform their lives from the inside out.
